Unsigned files - There are unsigned software files installed. These issues do not need immediate attention but they may indicate future problems.Ĭlean up - There are orphan files that could be removed. More than one antivirus app - This machine has multiple antivirus apps installed. Is it the end of my iMac's life!!!!Ĭomputer makes a loud ding ding noise unable to useĪnything that appears on this list needs immediate attention. Restarting - pressing Cmd and R at same time, it just loads as normal. I cannot seem to get in Safe Mode, tried every whichway. I can stop the ding by pressing any key but this does not mean the fault is clear it just means the noise has stopped.

The fault is not always when I have left the PC on for a few minutes as mentioned above it happens at any given time and I cannot put a pattern to it. When the ding ding starts I can hover my cursor over a menu but the menu shows for a split second and flashes off again.
I have done various things recommended PRAM, removed a wireless keyboard which was within a couple of feet of my iMac. I have unplugged everything including peripherals. (please bear in mind I am a 72 yr lady so may not get the jargon right). However for the last couple of months if my computer is left on for 5-10 mins and I go back to it, it makes a loud ding ding sound as though a key is stuck or something is pressing on the keyboard.
